Bound volume of Newcastle Local Section minutes, including Committee meeting minutes, Dinner Committee minutes, Ordinary General Meeting minutes and Annual General Meeting minutes covering the period from May 1913 to 1918 when the Newcastle Local Section became the North-Eastern Centre, and continuing up until March 1921. There are also Tees-side Committee minutes which date from the period after the formation of the Tees-side Branch in 1912. The minutes are both manuscript and typescript and begin with the Section AGM at Armstrong College on Monday 26 May 1913 and end with the 7th Ordinary General Meeting minutes at the Armstrong College on Monday 28 February 1921. The minutes list the papers presented at the various meetings, discuss paper programmes, discuss correspondence and the relationship with the IEE in London, and discuss subjects of interest to the Section/Centre. There is a significant amount of coverage of the relationship of the Section/Centre with other technical and engineering organisations in the region. Many prominent and noted engineers were Committee members and have signed the pages of the minutes or have added entries by hand. These individuals include; C Vernier (Section Chairman 1913).
