- Scope and ContentPhotograph album titled, 'The Junior Institution of Engineers - Photographs'. This high quality album, leather bound and inscribed, was presented as an empty volume to the JIE, by members in 1903. There is an inscription in the front which reads, 'presented to the institution by Mr Robert B Ellis and Mr Ernest C Roche (members), October 1903'. The album originally came in a detailed embroidered cloth cover which can be found at IIE/IMGTechE/SPE/04 (conserved). The album contains photographs of member meetings and visits, primarily from the 1903 to 1909 period including the following images; Page 1. Summer meeting 1903, Sheffield and Peak District Group at Hadfields Steel Foundry. Also 5 small photographs from USA; Waterside Power Station, New York; Lake Superior; Hold of SS Augustus Wolvin, Lake Superior; SS St Paul, Mississipi River; and Steamer Puritan. Page 2.
