File of correspondence and reports relating to English Electric Aircraft Equipment Division, Luton. Until 1964, this site was owned by D Napier and Sons, a subsidiary of English Electric. In 1964, it was decided that all English Electric's aircraft manufacturing interests should be run under one management.
Includes correspondence and reports on the following equipment: Lightning overwing tanks; agricultural gyrocopter; de-icing equipment. Also includes information on the following: management changes; rationalisation of production; transfer of charge chute assembly from Luton to Netherton; subcontracted work; proposed expansion; visit to India and the United States; and visits to the site by EE and BAC staff while it was managed by Napier.
