Written from Hotel Mont Collon, Arolla, Switzerland. Awaiting Bertie's arrival, only a few days with them as he leaves for Brindisi on the 21st. Possibility of meeting him in Egypt at Christmas on his return from Australia. John finding that he does not have the 'elasticity of youth' . Remainder of the letter dated 19 August: Bertie unlikely to return to England until January now as he has some more work to do. All enjoying the holiday.
