Letters from Evelyn Hopkinson to Mrs Hopkinson dating from after the announcement of her engagement to 1900, inlcuding a description of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee procession in 1887, details of the holiday in Switzerland when John and her three children were killed, and show her gradually getting her life together after the tragedy and taking on work with the District Nurses and Convalescent Home in Wimbledon, and Swanley Horticultural College.
