The correspondence includes comments on papers in Philosophical Magazine, and Nature, and queries asked of Heaviside by Burton. He also discusses Heaviside's autobiography and makes interesting comments on the First World War, the use of poisonous gas and trench warfare and the development of aircraft for the war.
