The Thames Valley Centre was created in 1982.
In September 2000, as a result of a strategic review of the Institution's activities and regional operations, the Thames Valley Centre ceased to exist. Oxford Area became Oxfordshire Branch, Reading Area became Berkshire Branch, and South Buckinghamshire Area became Buckinghamshire Branch.
