- Scope and ContentCommittee, ordinary and AGM minutes of the Centre, as well as the East Wales and West Wales Area committees. Also East Wales Area and West Wales Area YMS Minutes. The South Wales Centre was created in 1975 out of the West Wales Sub-Centre and East Wales elements of the Western Centre (see IET/CEN/36 for East Wales material in Western Centre). The South Wales Centre comprised the East Wales Area and the West Wales Area. Note that the History of the IEE 1871-1971 appendix 8 mentions that the West Wales Sub-Centre was formed in 1937 but these minutes make it clear that the West Wales Sub-Centre of the Western Centre existed in 1929 with its first committee meeting being held 9 January 1929. In September 2000, as a result of a strategic review of the Institution's activities and regional operations, the South Wales Centre was disbanded and in its place the East Wales Area became the Wales South East Branch (see IET/CEN/46) and the West Wales Area became the Wales South West Branch (see IET/CEN/47). In October 2006 following the combination of the IIE and IEE to form the IET, the convergence of the IEE Branches and IIE Regions was achieved in the UK through the creation of Local and Regional Networks.
