- Scope and ContentThe Glasgow Local Section was created in 1899 and this was renamed the Scottish Centre in 1918. In 1952 the Scottish Centre became a federated system with 3 Sub-Centres; North Scotland; South East Scotland; and South West Scotland. In September 2000, as a result of a strategic review of the Institution's activities and regional operations; North Scotland became the Scotland North Branch; South East Scotland became South East Scotland Branch; and South West Scotland became South West Scotland Branch. In October 2006 following the combination of the IIE and IEE to form the IET, the convergence of the IEE Branches and IIE Regions was achieved in the UK through the creation of Local and Regional Networks. At that time the Scotland North Branch became the Scotland North Network; South East Scotland Branch became South East Scotland Network; and South West Scotland Branch became South West Scotland Network.The 3 Local Networks were part of the Scotland Regional Network.
