Rugby Sub-Centre was created in 1945 as a spin-off from South Midland Centre. In 1972 Rugby Sub-Centre became South East Midland Centre and Rugby was covered by Rugby Area within South East Midlands Centre - see IET/CEN/14 for records of South East Midlands Centre (information taken from appendix 8, A History of The Institution of Electrical Engineers 1871-1971).
