- Scope and ContentThe Mersey and North Wales Centre was created in 1923 (it had previously been called the Liverpool Sub-Centre). The Liverpool Sub-Centre had itself been formed in 1919 as a spin-off from the North Western Centre [appendix 8, A History of The Institution of Electrical Engineers 1871-1971]. In September 2000, as a result of a strategic review of the Institution's activities and regional operations, the Mersey and North Wales Centre, with some minor boundary adjustments, became known as the The Mersey and Western Cheshire Branch. In October 2006 following the combination of the IIE and IEE to form the IET, the convergence of the IEE Branches and IIE Regions was achieved in the UK through the creation of Local and Regional Networks. At that time the IEE Mersey and Western Cheshire Branch became the Mersey and Western Cheshire Local Network which was part of the North Western Regional Network. This series contains minutes of Centre Committee and Ordinary Meetings.
