Scope and Content
The Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Centre was created in 1982 when Bedfordshire Sub-Centre was renamed as The Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Centre. Previously Befordshire Sub-Centre had been created in 1959 as a spin-off from East Midland Centre which continued to exist with that name after the spin-off of Bedfordshire [information extracted from A History of The Institution of Electrical Engineers 1871-1971, Appendix 8].
The IET/CEN/01 series covers material created by the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Centre after 1982. It also covers material created by the Bedfordshire Sub-Centre between 1959 and 1982.
