This file consists of printed documents sent to Roy Barker from his friend Professor Laurence [Larry] Rauch from JPL [Jet Propulsion Laboratory]. It includes records relating to the CERL International Telemetering Conference in September 1963; correspondence from Larry to Roy concerning the application of the Barker Sequence; printed booklets NASA JPL publication 'The Evolution of Technology in the Deep Space Network - A history of the Advanced Systems Program'; California Institute of Technology 'Engineering and Science' Fall 1989; copy offprint Proceedings of the IEEE with paper 'On Barker Codes of even length' no date; copy of letter and draft paper by Larry Rauch 'The role of the DSN Advanced Systems Program in the success of The Galileo Mission to Jupiter'; manuscript letter and typed excerpt from an unpublished tutorial-review paper on radio telemetry by LL Rauch; copies of published articles on Barker Sequences, Barker Arrays plus accompanying letters collected by Larry Rauch and sent to Roy Barker; a copy of a dissertation by Sabah Abdulrazzaq-Quaddoomi for PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California Dec 1982 on the subject of 'Two dimensional binary codes with good autocorrelation'; speech made by Larry Rauch at the IEEE Life Member Luncheon Oct 1984 on 'Communication and Telemetry past and future'; 10x NASA JPL factsheets on the subject of Voyager 2 passing Uranus [1986] each has a printed colour image on the reverse and the mission highlights; 1 x typed JPL factsheet on the same subject. The factsheets came in as a later accession and were added to this series [ACC 2025-03].
