Scope and Content
Thumb drive containing digital Word version of the operations manual and also engineering drawings for Littlebrook D Power Station, Dartford, Kent. The hard copy equivalent of the manual was 123 volumes in size. Littlebrook D was the last of 4 oil and coal-fired power stations at this location and ceased operating in March 2015. Littlebrook D was an oil-fired station built by the CEGB, with building work starting in 1976, and first unit commissioning underway by 1981. RWE was the last operator prior to closure.
The manual is set out in CEGB folders (electronic file 1.02GB in size) and is probably the original manual for Littlebrook D plus subsequent amendments. The manual is divided into parts, with each part covering a major component, e.g. boiler, turbine and condenser, generator etc.
The electronic engineering drawings are contained in multiple folders and total 25GB in size.
In addition to the manual and the engineering drawings there are a small number of photographs of the site and a small number of documents on the drive. 22 photographs from 2015/2016 can be found in the electrical engineering drawings folder (general documents sub-folder) and there is a separate folder of 17 'archive photographs' from the 1970s and 1980s.
