- Scope and Content1-page letter from Charles Vincent Walker [President of the Society of Telegraph Engineers in 1876] to Professor William Thomas Brande, FRS, dated 16 April 1845. The letter says, 'my dear sir, I shall be in the city on Friday to look at my electrotype; when I shall feel much pleasure in your company. Unless I hear of you to the contrary. I will call at the Mint at eleven o'clock. I am my dear sir, yours very truly, Charles V Walker.' This material was found in an SPT study collection book , 'treatise on electricity in theory and practice', by Auguste de la Rive, translated by C V Walker (1853-58). [Digital version available]
