Details

An 1898 publication titled, 'electrically propelled carriages', by Walter C Bersey. Bersey, the author, developed several eletrically propelled carriages himself and these are mentioned in the book as well as the carriages of other manufacturers. The 85-page book, which is extensively illustrated with photographs, has been combined with a document written by the Chloride Electrical Storage Company Limited, dated circa 1932, titled, 'some illustrations and notes on the earliest battery driven vehicles made in England from 1888 onwards' (document includes 29 photographs). The 2 separate items were donated to the IEE library 10 April 1933 by F W Crawter, and the IEE then bound both documents together within a new hardback cover. [Digital version available]
