- Scope and Content1-page typescript letter from Samuel Flood Page, discussing Edward's memorandum about charges for the rates of the Glasgow Depot. The letter says; "I have before me your memorandum of the 2nd instant to the Accountant with reference to a charge for the rates of the Glasgow Depot. Permit me to draw your attention to the fact that you, as the Manager of our Works, have no responsibility whatever with reference to any of the Depots. Mr Downie has certified this and you have examined it and found it correct. I write to Mr Downie today, telling him in future to send all papers relating to rents, rates and other charges which the Company has to pay, to the Secretary as it is nothing whatever to do with the Works at Ponders End. Only a day or two ago I was drawing Mr Coote's attention to the fact that each of these Depots must have their accounts kept absolutely distinct and separate, so that the Directors may always know exactly how each Depot is paying. You need not take up your valuable time, which is wanted very much for other purposes, by troubling yourself about the Depots for which (as I have said) you have no responsibility. Mr Downie is the organ of the Board in charge of these Depots and will always obtain payment for such charges as are necessary, on his certification of same forwarded to the Secretary. S Flood Page."
