- Scope and Content1-page typescript letter from Henry Charles Gover (newly promoted to Secretary of the Edison and Swan United Electric Light Company) sent to Edward Gimingham. The letter refers to a new method of working at the Ponders End factory and says; "Dear Sir, I am instructed to send you a copy of the minute of arrangements which, after several interviews with you and many consultations, the Chairman and Deputy Chairman have fixed as the mode in which the work at Ponders End, and of the Sales Department, is for the present, to be conducted. I am also instructed to request that you will acknowledge the receipt of these directions and to act upon them forthwith. The contemplated fortnightly meetings of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman with the officials of the company cannot commence until after the vacation; which will be an advanatge to you as it will give you time to get things in working order and we shall be able to see how the departments run together. Immediately after the vacation the meetings will commence; meanwhile should you require any direction, please kindly communicate with me, and I will, obtain for you the necessary instructions without delay.
