- Scope and Content2-page typescript memorandum from Samuel Flood Page (Secretary of Edison and Swan United) to Edward Gimingham about Edison & Swan United's display at the Crystal Palace Electrical Exhibition of 1892. The letter says; "Dear Mr Gimingham, Mr Gover told you on Tuesday that the Board has approved the arrangements which we had been discussing for some time in connection with our exhibit at the Crystal Palace. I have given instructions that a copy of the specification be sent to you; this of course together with the plan have become Board Papers. We however send you the plan for you to copy and return here. Mr Gover has signed this plan before sending it to you, as it is now necessary here for the Board. We have not very long to prepare. May I request that you will make your arrangements so that you will be absolutely ready without fail to have a rehearsal of the exhibit (provided that the supply of electricity is ready) on say Christmas Eve at the latest. Mr Offer has been here and has had communicated to him the particulars of the exhibit which have been stated in a memorandum by My Gover to you. If there are any alterations or suggestions please let us have them at once in order that they may be settled with Mr Offer. It would not do for two of us to negotiate with him, as it would only lead to confusion, and we here in London must hold ourselves responsible for the success of the exhibit, as [.] by Board. There are certain alterations marked on the plan which please carry out. I do not think it would do for us to have the Prince of Wales feathers and certainly it would not do for us to have the swan at the bottom as you suggest. Please have this matter taken in hand at once and carried through in the most careful manner, as you are aware that a very great deal of the success of the exhibition will depend upon the manner in which we carry out our work. I look to our selling a great amount of fittings. Yours very truely S Flood-Page."
