- Scope and Content1-page typescript memorandum from Henry Charles Gover (Assistant Secretary of the Edison and Swan United Electric Light Company) sent to Edward Gimingham. The letter refers to their Cystal Palace Exhibit and says; "Dear Sir, You are aware that the Committee yesterday approved the plan and estimates for the Crystal Palace Exhibit as submitted. You had better therefore at once put the matetr in hand and proceed with it with all diligence. The Major [Flood-Page] no doubt will write you more fully on the matter. This idea of a changing variegated exhibit I claim to be the father of, and as I think that it can be made the most attractive and sensational thing in the forthcoming exhibition I hope that it will be carried out with that complete mastery that I kinow you can throw into such a subject. I have written to the Electric Supply Company who will submit an estimate of price. The proposition I have laid before them is that the exhibit shall continue for one hour each evening, and that for three quarters of an hour there shall be only one of the five circuits in use, but that for the last quarter of an hour the whole five circuits, requiring two hundred horse power, shall be used as a grand finale. I am Dear Sir, yours faithfully H Charles Gover, Assistant Secretary."
