- Scope and Content1-page handwritten eulogy to Charles Gimingham, written by Samuel Flood-Page, 3 October 1890. The eulogy is written on headed paper of The Edison and Swan United Electric Light Company and says the following; "It is impossible that I should let the sad loss which has befallen us pass in silence. Mr C H Gimingham has endeared himself to all those who have been thrown into intimate business relations with him. He has gained the confidence of those under whom he worked, and the respect & esteem of those who served under him. His loss is felt by the Chairman of the Directors, his loss will be felt by the Company, by every rank & grade of those who are employed in the Company's business in London, as well as at Ponders End. Words altogether fail to describe what his removal will be to his family of whom he seemed to be the very life and centre. He leaves to us all a bright example, an example of fidelity, of loyalty, of indefatigable industry, of enthusiastic energy. May we all endeavour to follow in his steps. Forgive me for anticipating any more formal & official action on the part of the Directors, but I cannot let my honoured & esteemed friend & colleague pass away without expressing my high sense of the value of his life & work, my deep sense of the loss we have all sustained & my hope that so long as we remain in the Company's service we may all be animated by like integrity, fidelity & loyalty. S Flood Page, Secretary & Manager".
