Correspondence and related material about the proposed Royal Charter for the Engineering Council dating from October 1980 to August 1981. This file contains correspondence about the charter between the IEE and other engineering institutions such as The Institution of Civil Engineers, The Institution of Mechanical Engineers, The Institution of Chemical Enginers, the Council of Engineering Institutions (CEI) and The Fellowship of Engineering. It also includes correspondence with the government and in particular the Department of Industry. This file, as with IET/ACT/16/1, was probably the personal file of Howard Losty, the IEE Secretary at that time.
