Junior Institution of Engineers (JIE) Durham Bursary award certificate. Awarded to John Heywood 12 December 1952. John Heywood was awarded this bursary of £20 for his thesis entitled, 'fading due to the marine vessel's aerial systems and a method of eliminating its effects' which was entered into the bursary competition for the 1951-1952 session of the JIE. The certificate which has the JIE seal has been signed by the President, Chairman and Secretary of the JIE.
