Scope and Content
Sir Clifford Copland Paterson papers relating to the GEC Research Laboratory. One group of papers dates to 1918-1925 and the building of General Electric's research laboratory in Wembley in 1923. At the time of the opening in 1923, Clifford C Paterson was Director of the Laboratories.
A second group comprising two reports written by Paterson in 1945 gives a history of GEC Research Laboratory's work on the magnetron and also centimetre wavelength radar equipment for airborne use.
