- Scope and ContentTwo photographs taken at the Young Trophy cricket match in 1937. The photographs were taken by Norman R Rice who was involved with the Students Section of the IEE. One photograph shows a victorious member of the Institution of Civil Engineers accepting the Young Trophy in 1937, its first victory since the inception of the trophy in 1933. The second photograph shows a group of spectators including a; Mr Harris, Mr Henry Thomas Young (in whose honour the trophy was named - IEE President in 1936); Mr and Mrs Rolfe (N C Rolfe was Chairman of the London Student's Section in 1937); Mr Pettifer (PH Pettifer was Honorary Secretary of the London Student's Section in 1937); Mr Drake; and Mr Walters (HR Walters was the Vice-Chairman of the London Students' Section in 1937).

- Admin. history/BiographyNorman R Rice joined the IEE as a Student member in 1931, became a Graduate member in 1934, an Associate Member in 1940, then a Member in 1966 when the membership category structure changed. Norman remained a member of the IEE until the mid-1990's (1994/95 list was the last on which his name appeared). He studied electrical engineering at Battersea Polytechnic from 1931 to 1934. At the age of 20 in 1933 he was Assistant Secretary for Visits, IEE London Students Section (reported in Student's Quarterly Journal, vol.4, issue 14, December 1933, p103), and he was Vice Chairman of the London Students' Section in 1935 (mentioned in 1935 IEE membership list).
