Title
Vignoles' Diaries
Reference
UK0108 NAEST 102/02/09
Date
1912 - 1924
Scope and Content
A set of twelve hardbound diaries covering the years 1912 to 1924. The diary for 1915 is missing. The first four diaries are 'The Electrical Engineers' Diary'. These diaries contain approximately 150 pages of electrical information at the beginning (Companies, Adverts, Regulations, etc.) for the use of 'Consulting Engineers, Architects, Electrical Contractors, Central Station Engineers, and All Users of Electrical Apparatus'. The remaining diaries are 'Lett's Quikref Diary' or 'Lett's No.43 Diary' containing approximately fifteen pages of information, adverts, etc. at the beginning. There are no names on the diaries but the contents suggest that they belong to Ernest Blacker Vignoles, one of the founders of E&V.
