- Scope and ContentGreen/blue bound book. Evershed & Vignoles Ltd. Press Cuttings Book 10. The book contsists of 206 pages numbered in the top corner. The book contains press cuttings pasted into the book from newspapers, articles, exhibitions etc to do with Evershed & Vignoles. Some of the cutting are loose mainly due to failure of the paste. Also, cellotape has been used to fasten some of the articles and the articles from the adjoining page are sticking to the cellotape. The first press cutting, dated 26th March 1954, is from ‘Engineering’ titled ‘Electrical Engineers Exhibition’. The last press cutting, dated Dec. 1955, is from ‘The Oil Engine’ titled ‘Reconstructed Sewage Works’ Power Independence’. Inside the back cover is a single loose page containin an article by J.A.B.Mitchell titled ‘Features and Adaptability of the Woollen Ringframe’. Page 35 - An article from ‘The Electrical Journal’ dated June 1954 is titled ‘Birthday Honours’ and mentions G.C.Scott, manager Naval test department, E&V receiving a OBE (Civil). Page 71 - An obituary with picture from ‘Electrical Times’ dated 29 Oct., 1953 for Lt-Col W.A. Vignoles aged 79 formerly Managing Director of E&V.
