‘Private Letters’ Book No. 10 with dates Feb 6th, 1918 to Nov 27th, 1918. This book contains an A to Z index of letters at the front followed by 1000 pages of letters. The letters are replies by Evershed & Vignoles to correspondence received. On the first page of each letter are two handwritten numbers separated by a horizontal line. These are to trace a particular correspondence issue. The top number is the page number of the previous reply and the bottom number is the page number of the next reply. The correspondence is varied and covers staff, finance, product and war issues. Most of the letters are signed by E.B.Vignoles, Managing Director but others are signed by A.Vines and Tom Tuley.
