‘Private Letters’ Book No. 17 with dates Jun 22nd, 1926 to Aug 30th, 1927. This book contains an A to Z index of letters at the back preceded by 1000 pages of letters.. The letters are replies by Evershed & Vignoles to correspondence received. On the first page of some of the letters are two handwritten numbers separated by a horizontal line. These are to trace a particular correspondence issue. The top number is the page number of the previous reply and the bottom number is the page number of the next reply. The correspondence is varied and covers staff, finance, product and war issues. Most of the letters are signed by E.B.Vignoles (Managing Director) but others are signed by A.Vines (Managing Director), F.C.Knowles (Sales Manager), Tom Tuley (Accountant), G.B.Rolfe and C.E.Perry (Megger Test Manager).
