They are the records of the Institution's Governing body. From May 1871 to January 2001 this was the Council. From January 2001 the Council Minutes are continued in the Committee Minutes Series as the Board of Trustees took over as the Governing body. The Board of Trustees was created in February 2001. To reflect this new body a separate series has been made. The Board of Trustee Minutes has been catalogued under this with later additions added thereafter, see IET/ORG/02/05. For supporting papers 1929-1946 see Secretary's copies in IET/DEP/1/1 Physical description Series one volumes 1-12 (1871-1922) are reboxed in archival quality boxes as the leather has started to deteriorate. Some volumes in series 2 (1922-1994) , notably volumes 3 and 6 have damaged spines. Others have loose pages which have been flagged up in the individual volumes. The latter volumes, for the year 1994 (3 volumes), have some buckling due to previous water damage. Language English.
