Portrait by George Harcourt RA RP (1868-1947) of Colonel Rookes Evelyn Bell Crompton CB FRS (1845-1940), President in 1895 and 1908, three-quarter length, seated at a table holding a pocket watch. Signed and dated 1935, oil on canvas.
54 x 39 inches, in a 19th century gilt composition frame.
Painting commissioned by Edmund John Fox, but then donated immediately to the IEE. Fox owned the copyright, which he formally assigned to the IEE, 9 November 1935 [note: assignment contract in legal contracts series - reference Pub 13:25].
