Title
Savoy Place Album: The Savoy and Vicinity
Reference
UK0108 OPC/1/055
Date
Engravings date from circa 1750 to 1830.
Scope and Content
Album of colour engravings, with an index, including images and plans of medieval palace, prison, hospital, Waterloo Bridge, Savoy Chapel, Savoy Hotel and others. In addition to those in the album there is also colour engraving of 'A View of the Savoy from the River Thames' 1760 which was framed and displayed in the President's Office in Savoy Place. It is not certain whether this came from the album originally but as it is so similar to the others and there is reference to an engraving of the Savoy from the River Thames dated 1760 in the Index we have made this assumption and added it to the album in summer 2009.
