Scope and Content
1. Printed report of a visit to the USSR by the British Electricity Supply Delegation in May 1956, led by Lord Citrine, Chairman of the Central Electricity Authority (includes many photographs and diagrams). Melling was included as Chairman of the Eastern Electricity Board. An account of this 3-week visit to the Soviet Union, which followed a visit of a deputation of Soviet electrical engineers to Great Britain earlier in 1956, was given in a lecture by Sir Josiah Eccles at the IEE 8 November 1956, subsequently reported in the Journal of the IEE, March 1957 pp142-148.
