Scope and Content
3 typescript letters to Thomson from P G A H Voigt, a pioneer in early sound recording. Includes information on his meetings with Blumlein and background information on early sound recordings and Blumlein's work. Also includes a copy of Voigt's address to the British Sound Recording Association (BSRA) dated 21 September 1957. The individual letters are as follows:
1. 1page letter dated 29 November 1972 discussing Voigt's relationship with Blumlein and giving his own biographical details.
2. 6 page text of Voigt's address to the British Sound Recording Association (BSRA), 21 September 1957.
3. 20 page letter dated 12 January 1973 giving reminiscences about Blumlein, his own biographical details and commenting on the history of sound engineering. In his letter Voigt refers the copy of the BSRA address above.
4. 1 page letter dated 20 February 1973, checking whether his earlier letter had reached Thomson.
