Written from Manchester Ship Canal Company Board Room, Manchester. The council have gratefully accepted the family's offer, and have established a committee of [Edward] Hopkinson, the Principal of Owens College and Prof Schuster to oversee the project. Professor Schuster is also writing to scientific friends to see if they would like to contribute to the memorial, and a plaque will be set in the wall showing the names of those who contributed.
