Written from Trinity College Cambridge. Not expecting the meeting on the marriage of non-resident fellows to do much for their situation as even if the resolution is passed the Privy Council will probably reject it or at least sit on it for six months. However, they can marry in February whatever the outcome. His experiments on glass have been a failure but he is still hoping to get something out of them. Hard frost, hopes it will continue as then there will be skating at Christmas. With envelope franked Cambridge 12 December 1872
