Written from Plough and Harrow Hotel. Been to the opera but left before the end. Been to the Howth Light with the Inspector of Irish Lights, interesting as it is lit by gas not oil. Details of his journey home and dinner out with friends. Spectacular thunderstorm. With envelope franked Birmingham 26 July 1872
