He has experienced many problems in repairing the model telegraph. He answers at some length Thomas Davy's question as to the efficient action of the Electro-magnet which allows the rotary motion of the escapement. He discusses the various problems associated with getting the model to work; most of these have now been overcome. He is only able to spend the evenings working on the model as he cannot leave his practice till 4 pm and had at first employed Nicholls, Edward's workman, but found that he knew nothing about the apparatus. With two annotated copies of Davy's specification.
