Has written to the Secretary of the Cuban Company telling him what they have been doing. Has finally got the line working and has had messages from Madrid. Could open for business if he had the lightning conductors, instruments, testing houses etc ready but that will require two or three days more work. Very hot, and cannot get anyone to work quickly. Every other day is a holiday and all progressing very slowly. Has had to draw on his own account as all his funds are in Jamaica, would Edward check the balance and top it up if it is low.
