A.l.s. to Faraday, written at the Department of the Surveyor of the Navy, Whitehall. Refers to Faraday and Sir Humphry Davy's report on the preservation of copper sheathing. Requests Faraday's opinion on a plan to improve the condition of the Iron and Line Protectors by encasing the protectors inside a water-tight cistern in the ship.
