This 18 minute colour film shows five engineers in the course of a normal working day. In their own words, five women tell how and why they became engineers and talk about education, training, working relationships, individual jobs and prospects in the future. The women work in mechanical, civil, electronic and electrical engineering. The 5 women featured are; Dr Elizabeth Laverick (Head of a research group at Elliott Automation Radar Systems Ltd); June Spens (civil engineer working for George Wimpey & Co Ltd); Valerie Peachey (electrical engineer working for Merz and McLellan, Consulting Engineers); Sally Craven (mechanical engineer working for ICI Agricultural Division); and Carolyne Barclay (apprentice electronics engineer with the Ministry of Technology).
