Autograph letter dated from on board the Deutschland, giving details of the start of the journey [from Hamburg to America], a visit to Zachendorf's and a trip round their workshops where they were binding the catalogue of Pierpoint Mogan's picture collection, 150 copies each 2' 6" x 18" and costing in total £7,500 - 'certainly very sumptuous'. Merz has left a memo for staff for anything which might come up in his absence.
