- Scope and ContentHigh tension DC Generator (3000 volts), wave-wound armature, field separately excited off 420 volt DC busbars made by Thomas Parker of Wolverhampton and in use from about 1902 to 1923. HT[High Tension]/DC transmission to Tontine Street and Hythe Sub-stations was converted down to 420 volts DC by rotary transformers, 2 pole machines with double wound armatures having a HT[High Tension] commutator at one end and a LT[Low Tension] commutator at the other end.
