- Scope and ContentTS copy of letter to W H Preece from Marconi. Written in London after Marconi had returned from Italy. Refers to Marconi's continuing experiments with wireless telegraphy. Informs Preece of changes to the apparatus, including a new transmitter. Marconi describes the experiments he carried out in Italy, and asks Preece for the loan of Kempe and two Royal Engineers for more experiments at Salisbury Plain. He will be experimenting further on the effect of the height of the vertical conductor on the distance of the signal. In addition, he wishes to determine the effect of using more than one vertical conductor. He also asks Preece to recommend two young electricians who could act as his assistants.
