TS copy of letter to W H Preece from Marconi. Refers to Marconi's experiments in wireless telegraphy near Salisbury. Describes a successful experiment using two kites wired up separately to a transmitter and a receiver. They were able to signal across a 4 mile radius, including signals not sent over sight lines. Further experiments with balloons, after the wind had eased, produced signals over more than 5 miles. Tomorrow they plan to determine the need for a capacitor at the end of the line.
