Collection of films created and collected by the IET, 1920s-2000s. The majority of the films are talking films of prominent IEE members, including Honorary Fellows and Faraday Medallists, which consists of the members talking directly to camera, discussing their work. Other films include recordings of IET Lectures; Educational films; Recruitment films; films related to IET Connect (the Institution's charitable arm, previously known as the Benevolent Fund); Exhibition films; IEE films (related to Savoy Place); and films of engineering and technology subjects, including radar development, Bletchley Park, manufacturing systems, the National Grid, and transatlantic telegraphy). The films are in a variety of formats, including 16mm film reels, Umatic, VHS, Betacam and Digibeta.
