Scope and Content
This series contains bound volumes of minutes of occasional commitee meetings 1879-1942 (IET/ORG/4/1), bound volumes of committee minutes and supporting papers 1920-1967 (IET/ORG/4/2/1-39), committee minutes 1967-1982 (IET/ORG/4/2/40-54), committee supporting papers 1967-1982 (IET/ORG/4/2A), and unbound minutes and supporting papers 1982-1998 & 2000-present (IET/ORG/4/2/55-).
There are also separate sub-series for committees such as;

58. All IET records are closed for 30 years from date of creation. Access to information in the records, as opposed to the original records, is at the discretion of the Archivist in discussion with the originating department. For access to Council and Board of Trustee records post-2006, see Access to Committee records (revised 2006) below.
Access to Committee records (revised 2006)
59. In July 2006, Council Members were granted access to the agendas and minutes of all boards and committees, except for those marked ‘Private and Confidential’. Minutes of Council and the Board of Trustees have also been published on the IET website from 2006 and are therefore accessible to all IET members and the public.
60. Access to records created before July 2006 and records created after 2006 but marked ‘Private and Confidential’ is restricted in accordance with the conditions described above.
