Correspondence and other papers relating to Melling's book 'Light in the East', a history of the first ten years of the Eastern Electricity Board, after nationalisation and when Melling was Chairman. Most of the correspondence refers to drafts of the history which Melling sent to various ex-colleagues and others who were involved in the industry at that time. It also includes correspondence on the production of the book and letters thanking Melling for copies of the finished volume.
