- Scope and ContentPosters printed by the EAW to advertise new domestic appliances and to inform consumers of changes to electric wiring conventions and standards and to emphasise safety in the home. Also posters involved in the campaign to have more sockets built into houses and the overall message, that electricity could make a woman's life easier. Includes new deposit Acc. 2008-06- 7 charts/posters with cross sections of various electrical domestic appliances used for educational purposes. Between 1930 and 1955 EAW produced 3 different series of posters. The first series, circa 1930 to 1935, was called, 'electricity made easy' and consisted of 3 posters/charts; Chart 01: Generation of electricity (black & white); Chart 02: Transmission and distribution of electricity (black & white); Chart 03: Circuit in the home (black & white originally but revised version in colour produced in 1947); The second series of posters/charts, produced between 1936 and 1949, was called, 'how it works', and comprised 8 or possibly 9 charts; Chart 04: Electric iron (black & white).
