Scope and Content
The Electrical Association for Women was founded in 1924 by the Women's Engineering Society as the Women's Electrical Association, which quickyly changed its name to the Electrical Association for Women to avoid confusion with the initials of the Workers Educational Association. The Association's aims were to see that women should have the best and most suitable appliances and an abundant and cheap supply of electricity by exerting influence with those in authority and giving to women greater knowledge of equipment and also to explain the expansion and development of electricity. Dame Caroline was its first Director and editor of its magazine, The Electrical Age for Women. She continued as Director until 1956.
